The participating scientists want to make LED lighting systems more sustainable – via better product design and new use concepts. The innovative lights are to be designed to be fully reusable and reyclable. The experts aim to take the first steps towards a circular economy in the lighting industry.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) has published its much-awaited report entitled “Net-Zero by 2050: A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector”, which aims to show the global energy sector a path to greenhouse gas neutrality. The IEA report was presented in Paris on 18 May 2021 and for the first time models a transformation route for the energy sector up to 2050. Building on the scenario analysis of the IEA’s World Energy Outlook and its Energy Technology Perspectives from 2020, the special report sets out a detailed roadmap. It assesses costs and benefits of the necessary transition and provides more than 400 specific milestones for all sectors en route to greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050.
